DO at least one thing that you enjoy doing for yourself.
This could be pampering yourself, maybe a manicure or pedicure, or a facial or deep tissue-massage. This can also mean as simple as enjoying a warm coffee in one sitting, or with your breakfast, or watching your favorite TV show. This can also mean silence or using the bath room with out interruptions. Whatever it is, enjoy it, and start small and gradually grow to deeper more intimate things.
Keep your expectations low. Don’t over do it on your first day and don’t set high standards.
Do plan for this time. Set it on your calendar. Let your family and support people know of what your planning to do. You do not have to explain why you need time to if you do not want to. Do not apologize nor explain why you deserve it.
Listen Mom, everyone knows how hard you work your butt off everyday even if you think it is not enough. Therefore, do not feel shame nor guilt to do this for yourself.
We are not superheros nor super moms. We are humans that have limits and that need rest and pleasure.
