I know motherhood is hard and exhausting and frightful. And its hard to be fearless with a newborn or a very active toddler. And I am not trying to put more food on your plate. I just want you to focus on one thing to be fearless with to better understand yourself. To know what you can tolerate. To know what your limits and boundaries are.
So how are we doing with being fearless? What action steps have we taken with finding how to be ourselves?
Yesterday we read the quote, “I can’t think of any better representation of beauty than someone who is unafraid to be herself.” -Emma Stone
So today’s challenge is taking action steps to being ourselves. To finding out who are true self is. Are you someone who knows the importance of loyalty? Are you someone who likes adventure? Are you someone who enjoys being around a small group dynamic?
What ever you enjoy doing, do it and pay attention to your senses. Why do you enjoy doing what you are doing? Is it a certain smell, is it the space around you, is it the people around you, what do the colors look like, and/or is it the feel? Whatever it is, I want you to remember to pay attention to what draws you to that thing, place, or person. And try to implement it to other areas in your life. Little by little you will start bringing out that specialness inside of you, out.
Write down these questions in your journal and answer them and carry this little journal everywhere and write down certain things you like when your out and about. Use your senses. God gave us our senses to use them. They tell us a lot about our surroundings and ourselves. And when you are feeling lost take out that journal and read the list of things you like. It will bring you joy. And pray about all these things. Your spiritual life is just as important if not more.
And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worth of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me–everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. Not that I was ever I need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.”
I have a post on this scripture that goes with this series on my Scripture Saturday Category. Also a movie about being fearless is The Help movie with FYI Emma Stone. If you are a reader they have the paperback book or hardcover book as well.
